Oncology Medical Assistants play a vital role in providing comprehensive care for cancer patients. Their dedication, skills, and knowledge contribute to the well-being of patients undergoing cancer treatment.
Responsibilities
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Assisting patients with basic needs, including vital signs, preparing them for examinations and treatments.
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Coordinate referrals including imaging and laboratory services
- Assisting with the administration of medications as directed by physicians
- Maintain patient charts with updated information
- Assist during medical examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Provide clear communication for patients, physicians, and other staff members, ensuring a smooth patient experience
Requirements
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and disease processes related to cancer
- Ability to provide compassionate care and support to patients undergoing cancer treatment
- Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software

Pay: $20.45 - $24.63 per hour
