Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service, food preparation, and customer service within assisted living, nursing home, or hospital settings. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in ensuring residents receive nutritious meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while supporting the dietary department’s operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and serving meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas, dining spaces, and kitchen equipment in compliance with health standards.
- Support food handling, bussing, and cleaning duties to ensure a hygienic dining environment.
- Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying staff of low stock levels.
- Follow food safety protocols during meal preparation and serving to prevent contamination.
- Provide friendly customer service to residents, addressing their dietary needs with professionalism and respect.
- Assist with meal setup, portioning, and delivery to ensure timely service for residents.
Requirements
- Previous experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safety regulations.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with residents and staff effectively.
- Experience with food preparation, serving, and kitchen sanitation practices is highly desirable.

Full-time employment includes - FREE health insurance
- Full Time - 12pm - 8pm
- Full Time - 6am - 2pm
- Every other weekend is required
Minimum eligibility requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Supervisory experience desirable.
- Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly while recognizing that the community is the residents’ home.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual.
- Must be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff
- Must meet all health requirements.
- Must pass criminal background check.
- Must be able to perform duties and responsibilities (essential job functions), with or without reasonable accommodation.
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 22.5 per week
