Job Summary
2nd Shift Position 3pm-11pm
We are seeking a motivated Yard Jockey to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently maneuvering tractor-trailers within our yard, ensuring smooth loading, unloading, and truck positioning. Your expertise will help maintain operational flow while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about logistics, driving, and maintaining a well-organized yard environment.
Duties
- Safely operate yard tractors to move trailers within the facility, dry van trailers only.
- Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, dock assignments, and yard inventory
- Conduct routine inspections of yard equipment and trailers to ensure safety standards are met
- Customer satisfaction, you will be communicating and taking direction from our top customer. Must have excellent communication skills.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience in tractor-trailer operations
- Proven experience in truck driving, delivery driving, or yard jockey roles involving route driving or over-the-road routes preferred
- Understanding of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT compliance, and safety protocols
- Ability to operate both a manual and automatic transmission
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail for record keeping and safety checks
