Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial health and integrity of our organization through accurate accounting practices, meticulous data entry, and comprehensive financial analysis. As a key member of our accounting department, you will support various functions including general ledger management, account reconciliation, payroll processing, and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills, proficiency with multiple accounting software platforms, and a passion for maintaining precise financial records in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy in debits and credits across all accounts.
- Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify financial data integrity.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently.
- Support payroll management activities; ensure timely processing and compliance with tax regulations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.
- Conduct internal audits and assist with external audits when required.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, perform data entry tasks with high precision (including 10 key typing), and ensure adherence to GAAP standards.
- Utilize various financial software tools for account reconciliation, budget analysis, credit analysis, and financial reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes related to payroll management, tax filings, and financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and accounting standards.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with payroll systems including ADP, Paychex, Kronos or UltiPro is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability in account reconciliation, journal entries, balance sheet analysis and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Excellent understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management.
- Proficiency in data entry accuracy (10 key typing) combined with strong math skills for account analysis and budgeting tasks.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-moving environment.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
