Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Registered Nurse - Director of Staff Development to lead our training and professional growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of healthcare environments, including nursing homes, and assisted living, with a focus on fostering continuous learning and staff competency.
This position also serves as the Wound Care Nurse where you will play a vital role in promoting healing and improving patient outcomes through wound management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate in-service education programs throughout the facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards.
- Conduct assessments to identify staff development needs and customize educational strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with department leaders to implement ongoing training initiatives that support standards and quality improvement goals.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, certifications, and compliance documentation for audit purposes.
- Promote a positive learning environment that encourages professional growth, teamwork, and continuous improvement among healthcare staff.
- Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding.
- Conduct patient assessments focusing on wound care and develop treatment plans
- Proven experience in nursing or healthcare education with a focus on staff training and wound care within hospital or nursing home environments.
- Prior experience in is highly desirable.
- Strong background in medical documentation practices and familiarity with electronic health records systems.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards related to patient information security and confidentiality.
- Experience designing and delivering education programs focused on clinical skills development and professional certification preparation.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
