About the Role
A premier manufacturing and pipe coating facility located in Steelton, Pennsylvania is seeking a skilled and reliable Full-Time Industrial Electrician to join the team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of heavy industrial production machinery through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret & Plan: Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
- Install & Repair: Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic/coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
- Test & Diagnose: Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine preventive maintenance programs and keep accurate, detailed maintenance records.
- Equipment Upgrades: Assist with new equipment installations (preferred, but not required).
Core Technical Requirements
Candidates must have demonstrated experience in at least 2 to 3 of the following areas:
- Maintaining, repairing, installing, and testing switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, reactors, electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic/pneumatic electrical control systems.
- Installing, replacing, or repairing heavy industrial wiring, conduits, feeders, and cable assemblies.
- Diagnosing and correcting PLC programming problems to minimize production downtime.
- Diagnosing, repairing, and replacing machine electrical components including motors, relays, overloads, switches, sensors, and variable speed drives (VFDs).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Associate’s degree in a related electrical/technical field, OR equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience: 3+ years of electrical experience required; Industrial Electrician experience in a production or manufacturing setting is highly preferred.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs., twist, turn, kneel, stand for long periods, climb ladders, and work overhead safely as required.
