Job Title: Pharmacy Technician II
Job Description Summary
Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, you will support the accurate and efficient operation of the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with Option Care Health’s policies, procedures, and state regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Prescription & Equipment Processing:
- Process prescription refills, including PN/high risk, heparin, and saline.
- Handle new drug prescriptions.
- Count, pour, and mix pharmaceuticals.
- Package and label medications accurately.
- Provide training to Clinical Pharmacy Technician I team members.
Inventory Management:
- Verify and report incoming supplies to ensure accurate inventory levels.
- Create purchase orders to address any shortages.
- Remove expired materials and supplies as needed.
- Schedule patient deliveries.
Patient Support:
- Collect and maintain patient information for assessments.
- Respond to non-routine patient inquiries and requests.
Site Maintenance:
- Clean and sanitize surfaces and laminar flow hoods.
- Organize and maintain supplies.
Basic Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months of relevant experience.
- Must be licensed or registered, as required by the state.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience providing quality customer service to both internal and external clients.
- Proficiency in basic and intermediate-level math.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
