Pharmacy Delivery Coordinator
Ivira Pharmacy is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Pharmacy Delivery Coordinator to manage and coordinate our daily prescription delivery operations. This position plays an important role in ensuring prescriptions are delivered to patients accurately, efficiently, and on time.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced pharmacy environment, communicating with patients and delivery drivers, organizing multiple delivery routes, and resolving delivery-related issues throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and organize daily prescription deliveries.
- Assign deliveries to drivers and create efficient delivery routes based on location and ZIP code.
- Communicate with patients to confirm delivery availability, address, phone number, and delivery instructions.
- Communicate with drivers throughout the day regarding routes, delivery updates, delays, and changes.
- Monitor deliveries from dispatch through completion and ensure all deliveries are properly documented.
- Review prescriptions scheduled for delivery to ensure they are ready before being assigned to a driver.
- Coordinate same-day and next-day delivery requests based on pharmacy policies and availability.
- Handle failed or missed deliveries and coordinate redelivery when necessary.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
- Communicate delivery issues or patient concerns to pharmacy staff and management.
- Assist with optimizing delivery zones and routes to improve efficiency and control delivery costs.
- Ensure patient information is handled confidentially and in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
- Work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, customer service staff, and delivery drivers.
- Assist with other pharmacy operational duties as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple drivers, deliveries, and priorities simultaneously.
- Comfortable using computers, pharmacy software, mapping/navigation programs, and other technology.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to remain organized and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
- Previous pharmacy, healthcare, dispatch, logistics, delivery coordination, or customer-service experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of prescription pharmacy operations is a plus.
