We're seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and driven professional to join our team of Patient Care Coordinators/Schedulers. The right candidate will be responsible for managing daily patient communications, procedure scheduling, creating and reviewing procedure prep instructions with patients and families, scheduling Radiology, creating correct procedure orders & assisting with keeping our providers' schedules full.
The ideal candidate will have experience with scheduling and medical terminology, so if you have a background in healthcare patient care, this is the role for you. The scheduling Dept is very big on teamwork and always assist each other when it comes to patients and their care.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule Patient Procedures for assigned Provider
- Confer with patients to review medical history and verify insurance coverage status
- Directs patients with procedures and radiology procedures
- Communicate clearly and effectively with hospital staff as well as with patients and family members
- Manage designated patient schedule by confirming appointments and ensuring that necessary paperwork is turned in on time
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Work well with Medical Assistants, Referral Department and Primary Care Physicians
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge:
- Patient Scheduling
- Epic EHR & gGastro EHR is a plus
- Clinic Policies and Procedures
- Medical Chart and Records
- Medical Terminology and Insurance Practices
- Insurance Benefits, co-insurance, deductibles
- Grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Computer programs and keyboarding
- Proper Phone etiquette
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
