Key Responsibilities (but are not limited to):
- Spend your days building genuine relationships with each child.
- Help children learn about language and literacy, science, life skills, and more.
- Work with your co-teacher to implement the lesson plans from the research-informed Balanced Learning® curriculum.
- Maintain a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children
- Manage classroom schedule throughout the day ensuring premium care, including feeding, diapering, napping, etc.
- Foster social, emotional, and cognitive development through play and structured activities
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress
- Discover what works best for each child as you teach them about the world around them.
Requirements:
- Positive attitude and friendly demeanor
- Ability to think on your feet and jump in to help wherever needed
- Passion to care for, motivate and uplift young lives
- Previous experience in a group care setting working with children under age 6 preferred
- Knowledge of toddler care, infant care, and classroom management techniques
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field of study preferred
- Child CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work well in a team
- Ability to have a flexible schedule between the hours of 7 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday-Friday
- Physically be able to bend up and down continuously throughout the day while caring for young children
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Meet all requirements from state and local regulatory agencies, including passing a required background check
