About the Opportunity
The CoBuilders LLC is seeking a dependable Independent Contractor to provide custodial and vault toilet maintenance services for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) within the Dumont Dunes and Salt Creek Recreation Areas.
This route services 17 public vault toilet facilities across one of California's premier off-highway vehicle recreation areas. The position is ideal for someone seeking a larger recurring route with consistent weekly work during the busy season.
SchedulePeak Season (October 1 – March 31)
- One route per week
- Approximately 8 hours per cleaning
Off-Peak Season (April 1 – September 30)
- Two routes per month
- Approximately 8 hours per cleaning
Additional Work
- Five scheduled holiday cleaning routes annually
Work Hours: Between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM
Pay
- $22.50 per hour
- Approximately $180 per cleaning
- Estimated Monthly Earnings:
- Peak Season: Approximately $1,440
- Off-Peak Season: Approximately $720
- Additional compensation for holiday service routes
- Paid monthly via direct deposit
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize vault toilet facilities
- Pressure wash restroom floors
- Restock toilet tissue
- Remove trash and litter
- Remove graffiti, cobwebs, and debris
- Inspect facilities and report maintenance issues
- Complete service reports after each assigned route
Requirements
- Previous janitorial or facilities maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to work independently
- Reliable 4-wheel-drive pickup truck (minimum ½-ton)
- Ability to transport 100 gallons of water
- Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in remote desert conditions
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must pass any required federal background screening
