Becoming a substitute teacher is easier than you think. Kelly Education is hiring Substitute Teachers and Paraeducators to support Addison School District.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience at the elementary, middle, or high school level. No prior classroom experience required.
Minimum Requirements
Substitute Teacher
- Bachelor’s degree in any subject
- OR
- 90+ college credits and actively enrolled in an approved Illinois educator preparation program
OR
- 60+ college credits (Short-Term Substitute License)
- Minimum Illinois Substitute Teaching LicenseLicensing support is available if you are not yet licensed.
Substitute Paraeducator
- High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities vary by role but may include:
- Assisting and supporting supervising teachers and school staff
- Leading instruction or assisting students with classroom assignments
- Encouraging participation and building student confidence
- Supporting students in developing independence and academic skills
Substitute Teachers may also be referred to as substitute educators, guest teachers, or relief teachers.
Paraeducators may also be known as paraprofessionals, 1:1 aides, instructional assistants, classroom assistants, education assistants, learning support assistants, or teaching assistants.
