Job Overview
The Accounting Assistant will work with the Finance Manager with day-to-day Finance and Project related operations.
Duties
Assist Finance Manager with the day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and collections
Manage status of Project Estimates
Manage and update billing sheets for Project Managers
Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely payments to employees
Assist Contract Manager with contact review to ensure compliance with legal and business requirements
Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract documentation, including contract files, correspondence, and records of all contract-related activities
Assist with annual Corporate Insurance Application
Assist with request for Certificates of Insurance
Other ad hoc projects as needed
Qualification
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to meet deadlines and address time-sensitive issues
Ability to manage workflow amid shifting priorities
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Proficiency with Quickbooks, Microsoft Office Suite, and online software programs
At least 5 years of office/accounting experience
Ability to maintain and deal with confidential information is required.
Proven work experience in understanding accounting principles and practices
Construction/consulting industry experience a plus
