Licensed Therapist – LPC, LMFT, LCSW
Full-Time or Part-Time | Cypress, Texas
Join a Practice That Looks at the Whole Person
Serenity Wellness & Counseling Center is a growing, collaborative mental health and wellness practice located in Cypress, Texas. We believe meaningful healing often requires looking beyond symptoms alone and understanding the whole person—their emotional health, relationships, nervous system, physical well-being, life experiences, and environment.
Our goal is to create a space where clients can access thoughtful, individualized care while clinicians have the support, flexibility, training, and collaboration they need to do meaningful work without sacrificing their own well-being.
We are currently looking for a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or qualified Associate to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis.
Fully licensed clinicians are preferred, but Associates will also be considered. Spanish-speaking or bilingual clinicians are a plus, but this is not required.
Why Serenity?
Serenity is more than a collection of therapists working under one roof. We have intentionally built an interdisciplinary environment where clinicians can collaborate, continue developing their skills, and think more broadly about the factors contributing to a client's mental health.
In addition to traditional psychotherapy, our practice incorporates and collaborates around areas such as:
- Trauma therapy
- Nervous-system regulation
- Neurofeedback
- Functional wellness support
- Nutrition
- Psychiatry
- Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy
- Mindfulness and body-based approaches
- Evidence-informed and integrative mental health care
Our team also includes clinicians trained in modalities such as EMDR, ACT, CBT, DBT, IFS, and other trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches.
You do not need to be trained in all—or even most—of these modalities to work at Serenity.
One of the unique opportunities at Serenity is the ability to work alongside clinicians who are actively involved in emerging areas of mental health treatment.
Our clinical leadership includes a psychedelic-assisted therapy certified clinician with extensive experience in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy who also serves as a Lead Therapist on multiple psychedelic clinical research projects in the Houston area, including research conducted through MD Anderson Cancer Center.
For clinicians interested in psychedelic-assisted therapy, altered-state work, trauma treatment, preparation and integration, or the evolving science behind these approaches, this creates a unique environment for consultation, mentorship, clinical discussion, and professional development.
Prior psychedelic-assisted therapy experience is not required.
What matters most is that you are curious, compassionate, clinically grounded, ethically minded, open to continued learning, and interested in being part of a team that believes there is rarely a one-size-fits-all approach to healing.
Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities
We are open to both part-time and full-time clinicians.
At Serenity, we consider a full-time clinical caseload to be approximately 23–25 clients per week.
We understand that building the right caseload takes time. New clinicians are given flexibility as their schedule develops rather than being expected to immediately carry a full caseload.
Our established practice, community presence, referral relationships, and marketing efforts help support clinicians in building and maintaining their caseload.
What You'll Do
As a therapist at Serenity, you will:
- Provide individual, couples, family, child, and/or adolescent therapy based on your areas of competence and interest
- Complete assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Utilize evidence-based and clinically appropriate therapeutic interventions
- Maintain accurate, ethical, and timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with Serenity clinicians and wellness providers when appropriate
- Participate in case consultation, professional development, and team collaboration
- Have opportunities to learn from clinicians with advanced training and experience in trauma, nervous-system regulation, KAP, psychedelic-assisted therapy, neurofeedback, EMDR, and integrative mental health
- Provide appropriate referrals when a client's needs fall outside your scope of practice
- Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
- Maintain appropriate Texas licensure, liability insurance, and continuing education requirements
- Practice in accordance with applicable Texas licensing regulations and professional ethical standards
Who We're Looking ForRequired
- Master's degree in counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, or another qualifying mental health field
- Licensed or eligible to practice in Texas as an LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LPC Associate, LMFT Associate, or LMSW working toward clinical licensure
- Individual professional liability/malpractice insurance
- Strong clinical judgment and ethical decision-making
- Ability to establish meaningful therapeutic relationships with clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Timely and thorough documentation
- Compassionate, dependable, and professional approach
- Interest in continued clinical growth and development
- Desire to work collaboratively rather than practice entirely in isolation
A Plus, But Not Required
We appreciate additional experience and training, but none of the following are requirements for consideration:
- Fully licensed LPC, LMFT, or LCSW
- Spanish-speaking or bilingual
- Two or more years of direct clinical experience
- EMDR training
- Trauma-focused training
- Experience with couples or family therapy
- Somatic or nervous-system-based approaches
- Ketamine-assisted or psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy experience
- Experience working with specific specialty populations
We are interested in finding the right clinician and team fit, not someone who checks every box.
Additional Training We Value
We love having clinicians with different backgrounds and specialties. Additional training may include:
- EMDR
- ACT
- CBT
- DBT
- IFS or other parts-based approaches
- Couples or family therapy
- Trauma-focused therapies
- Somatic or nervous-system-based approaches
- Neurofeedback
- Mindfulness
- Yoga or breathwork-informed approaches
- Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy
- Psychedelic-assisted therapy
- Psychedelic preparation and integration
Again, these are areas we value—not prerequisites for the position.
We welcome clinicians who already have an established specialty as well as those who are excited to continue expanding their clinical skill set after joining Serenity.
For clinicians specifically interested in psychedelic-assisted therapy, Serenity offers the opportunity to work in an environment where these conversations are informed not only by clinical practice, but also by direct experience within psychedelic clinical research.
What Serenity Provides
We want our clinicians spending their energy on clinical care and professional growth—not trying to independently manage every aspect of private practice.
Our clinicians receive support that may include:
- Consistent client referrals
- Administrative support
- Scheduling and practice support
- Electronic health record system
- HIPAA-compliant email and communication systems
- Beautiful, fully furnished therapy offices
- Flexible scheduling
- Paid administrative time
- Paid consultation and collaboration time
- Paid professional training stipend
- Ongoing professional development opportunities
- Team consultation and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Opportunities for consultation with clinicians working in advanced and emerging areas of mental health treatment
- Exposure to clinical conversations surrounding psychedelic-assisted therapy, KAP, trauma treatment, preparation, integration, and current psychedelic research
- Team events and opportunities for connection
- Competitive compensation
- Bonus opportunities
- Paid time off for eligible employees
- 401(k) eligibility after one year
- 401(k) matching for eligible employees
Specific benefits are based on employment status and eligibility.
Grow Beyond Your Caseload
We want Serenity to be a place where therapists can build more than a caseload. We want clinicians to have opportunities to develop professionally, explore specialties, collaborate across disciplines, and continue becoming better therapists.
Our team includes professionals with diverse training and experience, creating opportunities to discuss cases from multiple perspectives rather than approaching every concern through one therapeutic lens.
For someone interested in areas such as trauma treatment, nervous-system regulation, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, psychedelic preparation and integration, or the rapidly developing field of psychedelic-assisted therapy, joining Serenity also provides the opportunity to learn alongside a clinician directly involved in this work both clinically and through research.
Our clinical leadership includes experience serving as a Lead Therapist on multiple psychedelic research studies in Houston, including research conducted through MD Anderson Cancer Center, bringing current research experience into professional consultation and clinical discussion within our team.
Participation in research is not part of this position, nor is psychedelic-assisted therapy experience required. Rather, this background contributes to the depth of knowledge, mentorship, and professional development available within our clinical environment.
A Different Kind of Group Practice
We value clinicians who ask thoughtful questions, continue learning, care deeply about their clients, and understand that mental health does not exist separately from the rest of a person's life.
Our team culture emphasizes:
Collaboration over competition.
Clinical excellence without perfectionism.
Whole-person care rather than symptom management alone.
Curiosity and continued growth.
Learning from both established and emerging approaches to mental health care.
Connection and community.
A sustainable career with room for life outside of work.
