Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting materials to and from job sites while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of truck operation, route driving, and the ability to load and unload materials efficiently.
Duties
- Operate a dump truck to transport materials such as gravel, sand, and dirt to designated locations.
- Perform routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to traffic regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate logs of hours worked, materials transported, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site managers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Assist with the maintenance of the truck, including cleaning and minor repairs as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proficient in driving manual transmission vehicles.
- Knowledge of route driving and navigation skills within local areas.
- Experience in loading and unloading materials safely using forklifts or other equipment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices on the road.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
