American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a 26-week night shift assignment requiring a CA RN license and 1 year of L&D experience.

Hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit caring for high-risk OB patients in a culturally diverse population
-
26-week assignment on night shift (3x12 hours, 18:00-06:30)
-
Average daily census of 15-20 patients with 11-15 rooms/beds
-
Approximately 20 visits per day
-
RNs circulate on cesarean sections
-
Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
-
Floating required to meet facility needs, with travelers given priority to float within their scope

Uses Epic EMR system
-
Active CA RN license required (must be in hand at submission, pending license not accepted)

Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
-
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, and IV/infusion pump management
-
Labor and Delivery management skills including amnioinfusion, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, and C-section circulation
-
Experience with Pitocin (oxytocin), Magnesium Sulfate therapy, and other L&D medication administration
-
Neonatal care skills including APGAR scoring, newborn assessment, and thermoregulation
-
Postpartum care skills including fundus/lochia/perineum care and wound assessment
-
Experience with external fetal heart monitoring (EFM) and recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
-
Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
-
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
-
Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, antepartum, and postpartum patients including high-risk OB cases
-
Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and high-risk delivery procedures
-
Support neonatal care in the delivery room including newborn assessment and identification banding
-
Provide postpartum education and discharge teaching to new parents
-
Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

RTO requests should be submitted upfront, with no more than 7 days requested

Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a lower bill rate
-
Former permanent employees at this health system may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Candidates must disclose any prior work history at Providence facilities as permanent staff, travel contractor, or per-diem
