Job Summary:
We are currently looking for equipment operator(s) to join our company. The primary job for this position is to ensure that equipment is operated and maintained properly and in a safe manner.
To be a great fit for this job position, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed below and meet the following qualifications. Additional or different duties may be assigned occasionally at employer’s discretion. It is the responsibility of all W. Lorentz & Sons Construction employees to work together to complete all projects in a safe and quality manner.
Essential Duties:
- Perform daily maintenance on equipment and report equipment issues to shop in a timely manner so it can be fixed
- Ensure that the equipment is fueled every night and clean out machine daily
- Correctly fill out and turn in all information on fuel logs and daily job slips
- Complete all tasks with safety first
- Assist outside of equipment to complete tasks
- Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.
- Ability to observe details near and far and exchange accurate information.
- Must be able to read instructions and take direction verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and remain alert and attentive to job duties.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, carry, push, pull, reach and lift overhead, go up/down steps.
Qualifications:
- Must possess valid DOT Medical Card
- Must maintain a current driver’s license that meets state requirements, i.e., CDL, Class A and/or B Driver with possible hazmat and tanker endorsements.
- Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Previous experience in construction or other related fields 2+ years
- Familiarity with general construction practices
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Punctual, adaptable, and reliable
