Responsibilities
- Diagnose and perform minor repairs on vehicles including tire changes, battery jumps, fluid top-ups, and basic mechanical adjustments
- Use hand tools, power tools, and schematics to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
- Conduct manual handling tasks such as lifting tires, batteries, and other vehicle components safely and efficiently
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks, ensuring all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair needs and service procedures
- Maintain accurate records of repairs performed using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and other testing equipment
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities to ensure a secure working environment
Experience
- Basic mechanical knowledge with familiarity in vehicle maintenance and repair procedures
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and reading schematics or technical manuals
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems and ability to troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters
- Prior experience with diesel mechanics or light vehicle service is a plus but not required
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship in automotive service operations
