American Traveler is seeking a registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with trauma experience for a day shift position at a Level 2 trauma center and interventional stroke-certified facility in Columbus, GA.

Level 2 trauma center, interventional stroke-certified facility with a Level 3 NICU that serves as a regional transport resource
-
Primarily adult RT patient population, with exposure to pediatric intubated patients; full age range from infants to geriatrics
-
Performs non-invasive and conventional ventilation management, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests (spirometry), arterial line placement, arterial and capillary blood gases, oxygen management, and patient education

EMR and systems used include Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea

Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Every other weekend required

Floating within the facility and to a sister campus as needed

No on-call requirements

Current GA RRT license required (license required if applicable)

Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist

Trauma experience required

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS

Pulmonary function testing (spirometry) experience preferred

Epic EMR experience preferred

Travelers who have previously worked at any Piedmont facility must have been away from all Piedmont locations for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a traveler

RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must be available for two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review
-
Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

No schedule change requests are permitted; the posted shift is firm

Slate gray scrubs required

Copies of required certifications are needed for consideration

Two supervisory references (manager-level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration
