ASSOCIATE THERAPIST - JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision and direction of the Director, employees will provide treatment in an outpatient Mental Health Program to adolescent and adult clients. Supervision is provided by licensed clinicians, such as LMFTs, LCSWs, and Clinical Psychologists. As the position includes facilitation of group therapy, direct client hours may be obtained consistently and can be applied toward licensure. In addition to group work, this position may also include individual therapy experience and diagnostic interviewing.
BONUS: $3,500 upon successful completion of the 90-day promotional period.
HOURS: Afternoons and Evenings (Required)
EMPLOYMENT: Full Time or Part-Time (Benefits for full-time only)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Facilitate on-site group therapy following curriculum to a diverse population of adolescents and adults
- Conduct Intake mental health assessments and implement treatment plans
- Provide one-on-one individual and family sessions within the program
- Maintain and update clinical records; write progress notes
- Report based on Mandated Reporting Laws any child or dependent adult abuse
- Provide case management and/or crisis intervention
- Engage in prescribed clinical supervision and staff training and meeting as required
- May be assigned additional duties by their supervisor as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's Degree completed from an accredited school in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Mental Health Counseling
- Valid Associate license by the BBS.
- Valid malpractice insurance
- Must have excellent engagement, interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to utilize proper judgment and work independently
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Physical Activity – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
