We're seeking an energetic, motivated, and service-driven Assistant Fitness Director to help lead our thriving fitness department while continuing to make a direct impact on members' lives.
This is an exciting opportunity for a fitness professional who enjoys both leadership and hands-on coaching. Approximately 70% of your time will be dedicated to personal training and 30% will focus on leadership and administrative responsibilities, allowing you to build a rewarding career with exceptional earning potential.
- Partner with the Fitness Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of the fitness department.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, mentoring, scheduling, and supporting personal trainers and group exercise instructors.
- Lead and manage the Group Exercise program, including instructor development, class scheduling, and program quality.
- Foster a positive, welcoming, and member-focused fitness culture.
- Help develop and implement new fitness programs, wellness initiatives, challenges, and special events.
- Monitor the cleanliness, safety, organization, and appearance of all fitness spaces.
- Assist with departmental reporting, scheduling, communications, and other administrative responsibilities.
- Support member engagement and retention through exceptional customer service and relationship building.
- Conduct fitness assessments and consultations.
- Design individualized exercise programs that help clients safely achieve their health and fitness goals.
- Build and maintain a successful personal training clientele through outstanding service, referrals, and member engagement.
- Motivate, educate, and coach clients while delivering an exceptional training experience.
- Promote personal training and other wellness services throughout the facility.
- Teach a minimum of two group fitness classes per week.
- Deliver safe, engaging, and motivating classes for participants of varying fitness levels.
- Help grow the Group Exercise program through innovation, instructor mentorship, and member engagement.
- Current certification from a nationally accredited personal training organization (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NASM, NSCA, or equivalent).
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Group Exercise certification preferred.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or fitness management experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to motivate members, coach staff, and create a positive team culture.
- Professional, dependable, and passionate about helping others succeed.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional special events.
