Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Host to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional guest services and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role is vital in creating a positive dining experience and maintaining smooth restaurant operations. Prior experience in food service or hospitality is preferred, along with excellent communication and guest relations skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing reservations, greeting guests, and coordinating seating arrangements to optimize flow and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Welcome guests warmly and manage the seating process to ensure efficient flow of service
- Handle reservations and waitlist management using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms
- Provide menus, answer initial questions, and assist guests with inquiries about the restaurant offerings
- Maintain cleanliness of the host stand and waiting areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to coordinate guest seating and special requests
- Manage phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, including reservations and general inquiries
- Assist in guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously to enhance overall guest satisfaction
- Support other front-of-house duties as needed to ensure a seamless dining experience
Qualifications
- Previous host/host experience or background in food service or hospitality preferred
- Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on guest relations and hospitality excellence
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor with strong phone etiquette skills
- Experience in hotel or guest services is advantageous but not required
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
