Overview
We are seeking a dedicated First Shift Warehouse Team Member to join our dynamic logistics and distribution team. This role is vital in ensuring the efficient handling, storage, and movement of materials within our warehouse facility. Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently.
- Perform order picking using RF scanners and <PERSON> pick systems to fulfill customer orders accurately and promptly.
- Load and unload shipments ensuring proper handling to prevent damage, adhering to OSHA safety regulations.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper materials handling, storage, and organization within the warehouse.
- Support warehouse management system (WMS) updates for real-time inventory tracking.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks regularly while following safety protocols for mechanical knowledge and proper ergonomics.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to ensure smooth operations and adherence to safety standards.
- Operate heavy equipment such as cranes or clamp trucks for specialized material movements when required.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe workspace by following OSHA guidelines and reporting hazards promptly.
Requirements
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or related fields is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with order picker systems, RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), and heavy equipment operation including forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic understanding of heavy equipment maintenance or troubleshooting.
- Strong physical stamina capable of performing heavy lifting regularly.
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes along with materials handling techniques.
- Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Warehouse supervisor experience or familiarity with construction-related warehousing is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail during order picking and load/unload activities.
