Join our dynamic team as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLP-A), where you will play a vital role in supporting speech-language therapy services across diverse settings. Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing speech-language therapy plans tailored to each client’s needs, including children and students with disabilities.
- Support speech therapy sessions through direct interaction, reinforcement of exercises, and data collection under the supervision of licensed speech-language pathologists.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, share insights, and ensure comprehensive support for clients’ communication goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy activities, progress notes, and session outcomes aligned with IEP (Individualized Education Program) requirements.
- Support early intervention programs by working with young children to promote child language development and address speech disorders support.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote therapy sessions when applicable, ensuring continuity of care in various settings.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, teachers, and other professionals to foster understanding and engagement in therapy processes.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children, students with disabilities, or in pediatric settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to speech production and language processing.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to speech-language pathology and acute care environments.
- Experience supporting language disorders and implementing speech therapy plans effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in school or healthcare settings.
- Bilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse populations.
- Strong understanding of child language development stages and early intervention strategies.
- Demonstrated commitment to client communication, confidentiality, and ethical practices in therapy delivery.
