Job Description
We are a four-time Good Food Award®-winning artisan chocolate company that has been a leader in confection flavor and technique in San Francisco for over 16 years. We produce the highest-quality, hand-made truffles, caramels and chocolate covered confections in small batches, using fair-trade chocolate and pure ingredients.
We're looking for a part-time dishwasher to clean and sanitize our heavy confectionery equipment and machinery each evening, and support another evening cleaning person with general cleaning duties (floor mopping, table cleaning, trash collection, etc.) This role is 5 days per week, 5 hours per day from 5:00pm to 10:00pm.
Dishwasher:
As Feve’s Dishwasher, you will be an important part of our culinary team. You will be responsible for cleaning our production molds, depositing equipment, culinary equipment, sheet trays, utensils, and our chocolate-production equipment. While it's great if you have previous kitchen or dishwashing experience, we can train you if you have the right attitude, work ethic, and a passion for delicious chocolate! You'll work closely with our team of experienced Chocolatiers who will guide you and preside over sanitation and quality control. You'll have the chance to learn our business, and take responsibility for the cleanliness and quality of your work product.
Please note: this position involves lifting multiple heavy deposit plates and equipment each evening that can weigh up to 50 lbs. So you must have the physical stamina and strength to handle heavy, delicate tools and equipment easily. You must be a good communicator, and especially disciplined and focused. As an SQF-food safety certified facility, we are hyper-focused on proper allergen control, and thus every piece of equipment that gets cleaned and sanitized must be spotless so the next day's crew can have confidence in their usage.
This is a part-time, permanent position for 25 hours a week depending on your availability, and our needs. Your schedule can be fixed based on our conversation with you at the interview, and you'll normally be working the hours of 4pm to 9pm, Monday through Friday only.
Responsibilities include:
· Cleaning and removing all traces of chocolate and fillings from our automated depositing lines and other equipment on a nightly basis, and readying such equipment for the following day's production.
- Polishing chocolate production molds, washing sheet trays, culinary utensils, bowls, dishes and other commercial kitchen production items to ensure good sanitation and cleanliness.
- Wet mopping the floors in our production area and packing warehouse, vacuuming office carpets, collecting and taking out trash, and other general cleaning duties alongside one other individual.
· Training in food safety is a plus
· Create a positive work environment that is focused, progressive and enjoyable.
Required Qualifications:
· IMPORTANT: YOU MUST HAVE THE PHYSICAL STAMINA AND STRENGTH TO LIFT AND CLEAN MULTIPLE TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT WEIGHING UP TO 50 POUNDS EACH.
- Focus, positive attitude and attention to detail, organizational skills, and an above-average ability to multitask
- Ability to work with people of various personalities
- Must be able to work in the U.S. legally
Please include your resume, and tell us why you think you’re the perfect fit for Feve … we’d love to hear from you!
