A Space for Us Counseling is expanding into an integrated wellness center focused on neuroscience-informed, holistic, somatic, and trauma-responsive care.

Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Acupuncturist to join our growing wellness team.
The ideal candidate is committed to whole-person care and understands how acupuncture can complement mental health treatment, stress management, pain management, nervous-system regulation, and overall wellness.
The Licensed Acupuncturist will provide individualized acupuncture services while collaborating appropriately with therapists and other wellness professionals.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct client consultations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide safe, professional, and client-centered acupuncture treatments.
- Educate clients about treatment recommendations, anticipated benefits, limitations, and aftercare.
- Obtain informed consent and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
- Follow infection-control, needle-safety, sanitation, and sharps-disposal procedures.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans when appropriate.
- Recognize contraindications and refer clients to medical or behavioral health providers when needed.
- Collaborate with clinicians and wellness practitioners with the client’s authorization.
- Maintain a clean, calm, and welcoming treatment environment.
- Follow all licensing, ethical, privacy, and organizational requirements.
- Participate in wellness programs, workshops, or community events when appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted New Jersey acupuncturist license in good standing.
- Graduate of an accredited acupuncture or East Asian medicine program.
- Knowledge of acupuncture safety, contraindications, sanitation, infection control, and emergency procedures.
- Current professional liability insurance or willingness to obtain coverage before starting.
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to culturally responsive, inclusive, and trauma-informed care.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an integrated wellness setting.
- Current CPR and first-aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification before starting.
- Ability to complete all required credentialing and employment screenings.
