BUILDING ATTENDANT I - FULL-TIME

Position Overview
To provide routine manual work involving cleaning, sanitizing and housekeeping duties in buildings. Maintain facilities during events. Responsible for janitorial and housekeeping duties involving occasional physical labor.
Essential Job Functions:
Cleans, sweeps, vacuums, mops, dusts, and scrubs tile work, floors, stairways, hallways, offices, galleries, and building lobbies as scheduled.
Cleans and maintains restrooms daily, and during and after events.
Empties trash receptacles throughout the museum buildings daily and during and after events.
Cleans, dusts, and polishes furniture and equipment.
Sets up tables, chairs, ice, beverages, etc., for events
Washes windows and moves furniture as scheduled. Polishes brass work.
Cleans up work areas, tools, and equipment upon task completion and at end of shift. Assures that all materials and supplies are safely and properly stored when returned.
Performs other duties as required.
Requirements:
Knowledge of proper building custodial procedures; ability to complete routine tasks in a dependable and reliable manner with minimum supervision required.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Must have flexibility in work hours, some nights and weekends are required.
Education & Experience
Education:
High School or GED preferred.
Work Experience:
Minimum 6 months custodial work.
