Dental Assistant --- Radiology license REQUIRED AND Patient Co-ordinator
Abington Dental Excellence is currently looking for an experienced DENTAL ASSISTANT to join our busy practice in Abington, PA 19001
This is a Full-Time position, looking for an energetic, multi tasker and great team player.
Making patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
Sterilizing and organizing dental instruments
Taking x-rays & CBCT
Advising patients on Pre & Post dental care
Required :
Dental Assistant & X-Ray Certification
Associate degree or certificate from college or technical school

Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols using aseptic techniques
- Assist the dentist during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with radiology licensing requirements
- Operate digital imaging systems such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment
- Manage electronic health records (EMR systems) including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, and other medical documentation platforms
- Record vital signs and medical history to assist in comprehensive patient assessments
- Provide chairside assistance during procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques
- Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health maintenance
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed
- Adhere to infection control standards and maintain a sterile environment within the clinic
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with proficiency in dental assisting techniques and chairside support
- Prior experience working with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is preferred
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical coding, and medical terminology is essential
- Experience with pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry procedures is highly desirable
- Familiarity with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, and medical imaging technology required for radiology licensing compliance
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and aseptic techniques within a clinical setting
- Previous work in a dental clinic environment demonstrating excellent patient care skills and teamwork capabilities
