Lead Painter – Doors, Trim & Refinishing
(Full-Time | In-House Role)
Skilled Painter with Craftsmanship and Confidence Wanted. Just Doors is seeking a highly experienced painter who specializes in doors, trim, and finishing. This role demands precision, technical knowledge endurance, and the ability to deliver flawless finishes—interior and exterior. From spraying to brushing, staining to polyurethane, this job is for someone who thrives on craftsmanship, customer satisfaction and all in a high stakes environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality painting and refinishing of interior and exterior doors, trim and ocassionally walls:
- Spraying, brushing, and rolling techniques for smooth, durable finishes
- Sanding, patching, caulking, and surface prep work
- Staining, sealing, and applying polyurethane for natural wood doors
- Refinishing and restoring worn or damaged doors to like-new condition
- Ensure proper protection of work areas, including masking, covering, and cleanup
- Communicate clearly with customers about finish options, durability, and maintenance
- Maintain organized tools, stocked materials, and a professional work site
- Uphold our 1-5 year warranty standards with precision and accountability
- Manage your calendar—arriving on time, rescheduling responsibly, and being reachable while working or driving
- Assist with light installation or repair-related prep when painting is part of a larger project
- (Optional) Upsell customers from refinishing/painting to full door replacements $$$
Qualifications
- Be an Honest, Excellent, Skilled, and Lively person
- 7–10+ years of professional painting experience (door or fine-finish work strongly preferred)
- Mastery of spray equipment, brushes, rollers, sanding, caulk, and finish materials
- Strong understanding of surface prep, adhesion, and curing times
- Ability to handle stains, sealants, and protective topcoats with professional results
- Tradesman & salesman mindset – skilled in the craft, confident in customer interactions
- Physical endurance – painting is demanding, requires lifting, bending, sanding, and extended work times
- Problem-solving ability – adaptable and resourceful on the job
- Professionalism & independence – able to manage projects start to finish without supervision
- Valid driver’s license & clean record
