Seeking an experienced and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support for a 23 year old female in NW Portland. Approximately 15 hours a week. There is some flexibility with schedule. Client enjoys reading storybooks, swinging in the backyard, watching TV, and watching videos on her tablet. DSP will assist with toileting, meal and snack service, and recreation/entertainment assistance, and will need to be able to support challenging behaviors. Integrated care with a supportive family and ongoing guidance and coaching can be provided via behavioral and SLP therapists. There are dogs, but no smoking in the home. CNA experience would be helpful.
Schedule:
- Thursday, Friday and Sunday: 2pm - 7pm. There is some flexibility with schedule.
- Approximately 15 hours per week
Candidate Must have-
- Valid Drivers License and Insurance Coverage
- Communication skills requiring patience and understanding
- Ability to provide occasional assistance with daily tasks

As a Kangaroo Caregiver, you will provide in home assistance with activities of daily living (ADL’s) to support and maximize our client’s quality of life. Kangaroo Care delivers the training and resources to give our caregivers top-quality skills in a meaningful work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help plan and assist in preparing some meals, including serving, if necessary
- Assist with dressing, grooming
- Assist in daily living activities and needs
- Participate in life enriching activities
- A caregiver may assist with medication reminders
- Complete required shift notes and scheduling via our caregiver app
- Maintain client confidentiality
- Record and report changes in client’s physical condition, behavior, or appearance
Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
