Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision metal components. Duties
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines such as lathes and milling centers, ensuring precise execution of machining operations.
- Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software to optimize machining processes.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to produce parts that meet strict specifications.
- Perform quality inspections using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), ensuring parts conform to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
- Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot machine issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, grinders, and tooling to assist in setup adjustments or secondary operations as needed.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall production quality.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC lathes and milling machines; familiarity with Fanuc controls is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with CAM programming software is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of metal machining processes, tooling setups, and measurement techniques.
- Proficiency in using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control purposes.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings.
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM), welding techniques, plastics injection molding processes is a plus.
- Ability to work safely with hand tools, power tools, grinders, forklifts, and other manufacturing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately for precise manufacturing outcomes.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with a proactive approach towards troubleshooting machine issues quickly and efficiently.
