Teach community college level courses in Business Administration, Business Transfer Curriculum, Economics, Accounting, Management, and Marketing both in theory and application. May also be required to teach online courses.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Peralta Community College District invites applications for our Temporary, Part-Time Faculty pool in the following disciplines:
BUSINESS INSTRUCTOR
Minimum Qualifications
1. Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in business, business administration, business management, accountancy, business education, finance or marketing;
OR
2. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in business, business administration, business management, accountancy, business education, finance or marketing;
AND
Master’s Degree in economics, personnel management, public administration, or JD or LL.B Degree;
OR
3. Bachelor’s on economics with a business emphasis;
AND
Master’s Degree in personnel management, public administration or JD or LL.B degree;
4. May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in Real Estate.
(California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990).
OR
5. The equivalent qualifications.
(Candidates who claim equivalency must provide conclusive evidence, as clear and reliable on the college transcripts as required on the District Equivalency Application Form. Refer to the Equivalency Procedures below. This is not a process to waive the minimum qualifications.)
AND
6. Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

For non-Master’s degree disciplines, please note that the District requires four years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree and six years of experience with an Associate’s degree.
Other Requirements Desirable Qualifications
1. Teaching business in a multi-cultural environment, preferably lower-division college teaching experience.
2. Practical, applied experience in business, accounting, and/or management.
3. Demonstrated technology skills especially in teaching online and using technology in the classroom.
4. Experience in teaching other business courses including general business, business law, marketing, accounting and management.
5. An interest in distance learning instruction(online courses.)
