Job Summary
The Newberry Opera House is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Front of House Associates to provide exceptional guest experiences during performances and events. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for patrons, responsible for greeting guests, checking tickets, assisting with seating, providing venue information, and supporting concessions or merchandise operations as needed. The ideal candidate will deliver outstanding customer service, work effectively as part of a team, handle a fast-paced environment with professionalism, and help ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests upon arrival and monitor public areas, including but not limited to lobbies, and entrances.
- Ensure the timely and efficient seating of guests while maintaining order and safety.
- Check tickets and direct guests to their correct seating locations.
- Assist with resolving seating issues or guest concerns in a courteous and informed manner, escalating to the Front of House Coordinator when appropriate.
- Maintain knowledge of the event schedule, seating charts, amenities, and general venue information.
- Uphold high standards of customer service by providing clear and helpful information to patrons.
- Assist with concessions or merchandise sales when assigned.
- Monitor crowd flow and assist with basic crowd management procedures.
- Support emergency response and evacuation procedures as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all public areas, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Contribute to a positive and team-oriented work environment.
- Think proactively – trying to anticipate problems that could arise.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons, clients, and internal staff.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Maintain current and in-depth knowledge of schedule, events, and all sellable items and updates.
- Stay up to date on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and manual and procedural materials.

Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
