Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Grill Cook/Prep Cook to join our team. This role involves preparing and cooking a variety of grilled dishes and ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within a restaurant or food service environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook grilled dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times
- Ensure timely service by preparing dishes efficiently during busy hours
- Support catering events or special functions as needed
- Assist in inventory management, including stocking supplies and rotating stock to minimize waste
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Familiarity with menu planning, food safety standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Excellent understanding of food service operations, including catering and serving processes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Culinary experience or background in the food industry is preferred
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed to support restaurant operations
