Position Summary
Sioux Falls Crane & Hoist is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Overhead Crane Inspector to join our team. This role is responsible for performing inspections, identifying safety concerns, and ensuring compliance with industry standards for overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections on overhead cranes and related lifting equipment
- Identify wear, damage, and potential safety hazards
- Complete detailed inspection reports and documentation
- Communicate findings and recommendations with customers and internal team
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable safety standards
- Travel to customer sites as required
Requirements
- Crane inspection certification or formal training required
- One or more of the following certifications preferred:
- NCCCO (National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators) – Inspector or Operator Certification
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- CMAA (Crane Manufacturers Association of America) familiarity or training
- ASME B30 Standards knowledge (especially B30.2 & B30.17)
- Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card (required for out-of-state travel)
- Clean driving record
- Willingness to travel, including overnight stays
- Strong attention to detail and safety mindset
- Mechanical aptitude preferred
