NAR Services Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly organized Fleet Manager to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, compliance, and overall readiness of our company fleet. NAR Services is a fast paced repossession, transport, and recovery company operating across North Carolina and South Carolina. Our fleet is a critical part of our business, and we are looking for a hands-on leader who understands the importance of safety, uptime, accountability, and communication.
The Fleet Manager will be responsible for ensuring all company vehicles and equipment are properly maintained, inspected, repaired, and ready for daily operations. This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, mechanical understanding and the ability to work closely with operations, driver management, and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, repair, and readiness of all company vehicles, including repo trucks, camera cars, transport vehicles, and related equipment.
- Track and schedule preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, oil changes, tire service, repairs, and equipment updates.
- Ensure all fleet vehicles remain safe, compliant, clean, and operational.
- Monitor vehicle downtime and work to reduce delays that impact field operations.
- Communicate daily with managers and drivers regarding truck readiness, equipment issues, repairs, and vehicle availability.
- Manage relationships with repair shops, dealerships, towing, parts suppliers, and other fleet-related service providers.
- Review repair estimates, approve work when authorized, and ensure repairs are completed timely and cost-effectively.
- Maintain accurate records for maintenance, repairs, inspections, registrations, insurance documents, and equipment assignments.
- Assist with vehicle assignments, equipment tracking, GPS systems, cameras, fuel cards, and company property.
- Monitor fleet costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenses.
- Conduct regular fleet inspections and follow up on driver-reported issues.
- Help enforce company policies regarding vehicle care, inspections, accidents, damage reporting, and safe operation.
- Work with leadership on fleet planning, replacement needs, growth, and equipment purchases.
- Respond quickly to urgent fleet issues that may impact daily operations.
Qualifications
- Prior fleet management, transportation, automotive or equipment management experience required
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, repair processes, and preventative maintenance scheduling.
- Ability to manage multiple vehicles, vendors, repairs, and priorities at the same time.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to hold drivers and vendors accountable while maintaining a professional working relationship.
- Basic computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, and fleet or maintenance tracking systems.
- Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Mechanical knowledge is strongly preferred.
- Experience with tow trucks, rollback trucks, repo equipment, camera cars, or transport vehicles is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be able to pass applicable background and driving record checks.
