Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Dentrix, is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through effective chairside assisting.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately in medical documentation.
- Manage patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding confidentiality.
- Provide support in pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging as needed during procedures.
- Assist with dental receptionist duties, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient clinic operations while providing excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting.
- Familiarity with Dentrix is preferred.
- Strong understanding of dental procedures including pediatric dentistry and orthodontics.
- Ability to perform medical imaging and maintain accurate dental records.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining infection control standards.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $24.00 per hour
