The Bowen After School Care Program (BASCP) is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and reliable Part-Time After-School Teacher to join our exceptional team.
At BASCP, we believe after-school hours are an opportunity for children to explore their interests, build friendships, and develop confidence through meaningful experiences. Our teachers are supported through collaborative leadership, ongoing professional development, and access to a wide variety of STEAM resources and enrichment materials.

Position Overview
Schedule (24 hours/week)
- Monday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Tuesday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Two full-day shifts throughout the school year (9/29/26, 10/27/26: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Thursday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Four full-day shifts throughout the school year (12/3/26, 2/4/27, 3/18/27, 5/6/27): 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
- Friday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Location: Newton Center, MA
What You'll Do
As an After-School Teacher, you'll play an important role in supporting children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Each day you will:
- Welcome children as they arrive after school.
- Serve nutritious afternoon snacks.
- Plan and facilitate engaging activities, games, and enrichment experiences.
- Support homework completion and literacy development.
- Foster positive relationships with students and families.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and leadership to deliver a high-quality after-school program.
Qualifications
We're looking for candidates who have:
- Experience working with school-age children in a school, childcare, camp, or recreation setting.
- A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring children.
- Creativity, flexibility, and a willingness to learn new classroom management strategies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- The ability to successfully pass CORI and SORI background checks.
- A physician's statement of good health.
- Positive professional references.
