About the Role
1 Clean Air is hiring an In-Home Sales Representative | Estimator on behalf of our partner, WeSurv, in Newport, Rhode Island.
This is a field-based role for someone who knows how to walk into a customer’s home, understand the project, build trust, prepare a clear estimate, and close the sale.
You will meet with homeowners, inspect project needs, provide estimates, explain options, and help customers move forward with services such as painting, landscaping, doors, windows, and other home improvement projects.
Responsibilities
- Attend scheduled in-home appointments with customers in Newport and surrounding areas
- Inspect project needs and gather accurate information for estimates
- Prepare clear, professional estimates for home improvement services
- Explain pricing, scope of work, timelines, and service options to customers
- Build trust with homeowners and guide them through the decision process
- Follow up with prospects and open estimates
- Maintain accurate notes, customer details, and estimate information
- Communicate clearly with office and production teams
- Represent the company professionally at every appointment
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in estimating, home services, construction, renovation, painting, landscaping, windows, doors, exterior services, or a similar industry
- Strong sales skills and comfort speaking directly with homeowners
- Ability to assess job scope and explain recommendations clearly
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable, insured vehicle for traveling to customer appointments
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
- Professional appearance and customer-first attitude
- Ability to work independently and manage appointments responsibly
- Comfortable using phone, email, and basic software/tools to manage estimates and communication
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling home improvement services
- Experience with painting, landscaping, windows, doors, roofing, siding, or general contracting
- Strong closing ability and follow-up discipline
- Ability to read job details, measurements, photos, and customer notes
- Local knowledge of Newport, Rhode Island and nearby areas
Compensation
Expected annual earnings are $75,000–$150,000, based on experience, performance, and completed sales.
Final compensation structure will be discussed during the hiring process and will include base pay and commission.
