As a Surgical Medical Assistant, your primary location will be our Payson, AZ clinic, with initial training required at our Mesa Clinic. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate is someone who can be assertive and confident. You must possess great decision-making skills, excellent time management, and the ability to effectively communicate with multiple Physicians and colleagues while having the eagerness to learn.
Responsibilities
Surgical Assisting
Wound care
Clinic/vitals
Update and file medical records and insurance reports
Arrange/schedule outside testing and referrals
Chart documentation
Assist during medical examinations
Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms
Physiological studies
Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments – knowledge of sterilization procedures and protocols
Clinical decision making
Phone triage
Skills
Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Social perceptiveness and service-oriented
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
NextGen, Centricity, FIVOS(Medstreaming)/EMR knowledge
Being bilingual is a HUGE plus
Required: 1 year of Back Office Medical Assistant experience; the company is willing to train on Front Office
Medical Assistance Certification is preferred but not required
