Night Shift LeadYour Mission
As the Night Production Lead, you'll oversee production operations during your shift, ensuring our 3D-printing operation runs safely, efficiently, and at the highest quality standards. You'll lead by example, keep production on schedule, maintain printer uptime, and serve as the primary point of contact between the production floor and Operations leadership.
You'll be responsible for solving problems in real time, coaching and developing your team, driving continuous process improvements, and ensuring a seamless handoff to the day shift so production continues without interruption.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support a team of Production and Maintenance Technicians across printing, post-processing, washing, drying, and finishing operations.
- Monitor production throughout the shift, ensuring printers remain operational and downtime is minimized.
- Troubleshoot production issues, escalate equipment concerns when necessary, and coordinate corrective actions with the appropriate teams.
- Track and improve key production metrics, including printer uptime, throughput, product quality, and overall shift performance.
- Perform quality inspections and ensure defects are identified, documented, and communicated to the Quality team.
- Assign daily work, balance workloads, and adjust staffing priorities based on production needs.
- Monitor shift attendance, staffing, breaks, and coverage, making real-time adjustments and escalating attendance or performance concerns to Operations leadership.
- Ensure team members follow assigned schedules, production priorities, company policies, safety requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Coach, train, and mentor team members while providing clear direction, feedback, and support.
- Help onboard and train new Production Technicians to ensure they understand their responsibilities, safety expectations, and production standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, increase efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused production environment.
- Complete accurate shift reports and communicate production status, staffing updates, equipment issues, quality concerns, and outstanding priorities during shift handoffs.
- Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth production and rapid issue resolution.
- Serve as the primary onsite production point of contact during the night shift and escalate critical issues to Operations leadership when necessary.
