WHO WE ARE
McIntosh Area School is a small, close-knit VPK–5th grade charter school in McIntosh, Florida, serving approximately 45 students. We are a school on the rise — energetic, innovative, and deeply committed to the children and families we serve. Our team is small by design, which means every staff member plays a meaningful role in shaping our school culture and student outcomes.

THE ROLE
Responsibilities:
- Support the classroom teacher in delivering instruction aligned with Florida state standards
- Help maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment for elementary-age students
- Assist with ongoing assessments and progress monitoring
- Provide one-on-one or small-group academic support to students as assigned
- Support communication with families regarding student development, under direction of the classroom teacher
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and school administration on school-wide initiatives
- Assist with behavior redirection using approved strategies
- Accompany and support students during transitions, specials, lunch, and recess as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in education, psychology, or related field preferred
- Experience working with elementary-age students preferred
- Strong communication and classroom support skills
- Background screening (Level 2) required

WORKING CONDITIONS
This is an in-person position. Teachers work in both indoor and outdoor environments and should be able to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. The role requires sustained standing, walking, bending, and the kind of energy that comes with spending your days with kids.
