Job Description
Getwell Family Medicine is seeking an experienced, compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our growing outpatient primary care practice on a PRN basis.
This position is primarily intended to provide coverage during an upcoming maternity leave, with continued opportunities for PRN shifts to cover provider vacations, illnesses, and other staffing needs throughout the year.
We are looking for a provider who enjoys building long-term relationships with patients while delivering high-quality, evidence-based primary care in a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
- Perform annual wellness visits, preventive exams, and routine physicals
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing
- Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans
- Educate patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to provide exceptional patient care
Qualifications
Required
- Master’s or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program
- Current Tennessee Nurse Practitioner license
- National certification as an FNP (FNP-C or FNP-BC)
- Current DEA registration with prescriptive authority
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to practice independently with excellent clinical judgment
Preferred
- Two or more years of outpatient primary care or family medicine experience
- Mississippi Nurse Practitioner license (or eligibility) is a plus
- Experience using an electronic health record (NextGen experience is a plus)
