Musical Theatre Teacher (Kids Programs)
The Young Innovators Collective is seeking a passionate and energetic Musical Theatre Teacher to join our team for the fall session.
We run creative, imagination-based performing arts classes where children build confidence through storytelling, movement, and music in a supportive and structured environment.
Position Overview
We are hiring a Musical Theatre Teacher to lead two weekly Saturday morning classes starting mid-August. Classes are designed for young children and focus on introducing foundational musical theatre skills in a fun and engaging way.
Location
Clairemont / San Diego area
Ages
Ages 3–10 (age-grouped classes)
Schedule
Saturdays, morning availability required
Two classes per week (consecutive or scheduled blocks)
Start date: August 1st
Compensation
$28–$33 per hour, depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging musical theatre classes for young children
- Teach basic singing, movement, storytelling, and performance skills
- Create a positive, structured, and encouraging classroom environment
- Adapt activities for different age groups (3–8)
- Support confidence-building and creative expression
- Communicate professionally with staff and parents when needed
Qualifications
- Experience working with children required
- Background in musical theatre, performing arts, dance, or early childhood education
- Comfortable leading group activities for young learners
- Reliable, energetic, and engaging teaching style
Bonus Qualifications
- Ability to play guitar or keyboard to support class activities
- Undergraduate degree (completed or in progress) in performing arts, education, or related field
- Experience teaching singing or early childhood music education
- Previous work in preschool, elementary, or youth arts programs
