Company: Full-service toxic tort, pharmaceutical, and catastrophic injury litigation firm with offices in Texas, New York, and California which practices in the areas of asbestos litigation and other toxic exposures, products liability, general pharmaceutical, opioid litigation, climate litigation, and catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases.
Position Overview: The qualified applicant will assist in the management and work-up of numerous asbestos and/or other personal injury and wrongful death cases and support two or more case-managing attorneys.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee litigation cases, ensuring timely and effective progression
- Develop and implement strategic legal approaches tailored to each case
- Conduct detailed legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Maintain open and empathetic communication with clients
- Collaborate with internal teams, including other firm associates and paralegals, to optimize case outcomes
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of plaintiffs’ litigation experience at a medium to large size firm
- Proven experience in asbestos litigation is preferred
- Strong Organization, oral and written communication, and analytical skills;
- Detail oriented, adherence to deadlines, ability to multi-task;
- Ability to learn quickly and function in a fast-paced environment;
- Draft and send assorted documents to clients, counsel and courts as needed, such as correspondence, deposition notices, contracts, briefs, motions, orders, petitions and discovery;
- Responsible for proper filing and service of all documents;
- Experienced with e-filing and e-service in multiple states and courts (district and federal);
- Experienced with managing case deadlines across multiple cases filed in different jurisdictions;
- Experienced in communicating with local counsel in other jurisdictions to get documents filed or served;
- Creative problem solver who takes initiative to accomplish tasks with a minimal level of supervision;
- Ability to work with/around various attorney personalities;
- A team player with a great attitude;
- Ability to maintain a busy caseload between 30-60 cases;
- Experience with a variety of computer applications and cloud-based platforms: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, LexisXpress File & Serve, LexisAdvance (research), ECF/Pacer, NYSCEF; DISCO (e-discovery); Neos (client database).
Job Type/Schedule: Full Time; In-office/no hybrid offered; 8hr/day
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
