1. Education
- High school diploma or GED — minimum requirement
- Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Office Management, or a related field — strongly preferred
- Some employers require a Bachelor’s degree depending on the complexity of the role (Business, Public Administration, HR, or Communications)
- 1. NC Early Childhood Credentials (EDU 119)
- Must complete EDU 119 (Early Childhood Credential)
2. Education Requirements (must meet ONE)
- High School Diploma or GED
- AND at least 6–12 semester hours in Early Childhood Education
- OR an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
- OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field
- OR already hold the NC Early Childhood Credential (ECC)
3. Experience Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience working with children in a licensed childcare setting
- Strong understanding of child development and age‑appropriate practices
4. Mandatory Certifications
- NC DCDEE Background Check (must be cleared before starting)
- CPR & First Aid Certification
- ITS‑SIDS Training (required for infant classrooms)
- Basic Health & Safety Training
- Recognizing & Responding to Child Abuse & Neglect (RRCAN)
Preferred Qualifications (Highly Competitive)
- NC Child Development Associate (CDA)
- NC Lead Teacher Certification
- Experience with:
- Lesson planning
- Classroom management
- Parent communication
- Teaching preschool or toddler curriculum
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement daily lesson plans
- Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom
- Supervise assistant teachers and support staff
- Track developmental milestones and complete assessments
- Communicate professionally with families
- Follow all NC DCDEE childcare rules and licensing standards
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, and documentation
Pay: From $13.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
