Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to animals and assisting veterinarians and Technicians in various clinical procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and hands-on experience in animal care. The Veterinary Technician Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients while supporting pet owners with their needs.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests and analyze samples to aid in diagnosis.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal vital signs and provide critical care when necessary.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, including veterinary terminology.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry practices and post-treatment care.
- Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection.
- Assist with X-ray imaging and ensure proper handling of equipment.
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary technician assistant experience is preferred; kennel experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in veterinary settings.
- Experience with dog handling, training, and grooming is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
