Responsibilities
- Diagnose transmission issues using automotive diagnostic tools and schematics to identify root causes efficiently
- Repair or replace transmission components, including gearboxes, clutches, torque converters, and related systems
- Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections focusing on powertrain and engine systems to ensure overall vehicle health
- Utilize automotive wiring diagram interpretation skills to troubleshoot electrical and electronic transmission controls
- Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as fluid changes, alignments, and mechanical repairs to support vehicle longevity
- Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy lifting techniques safely during repairs and installations
- Communicate clearly with customers about repair needs, procedures, and maintenance recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction
Experience
- Dealership experience or extensive background in automotive repair is highly preferred
- Proven knowledge of automotive engine technology, including diesel engines and standard passenger car operation
- Hands-on experience with automotive electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools for accurate troubleshooting
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems such as the powertrain, engine repair, and automotive wiring diagrams
- Familiarity with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) technology is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately
- Strong customer service skills combined with mechanic experience to provide professional support and guidance
