Duties
- Operate fabrication machinery, including saws, and grinders, to cut and shape granite and other natural stones with precision.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to perform detailed cutting, polishing, and finishing tasks.
- Measure materials accurately using calipers, rulers, and other dimensional measurement tools to ensure proper fit and finish.
- Handle heavy slabs of stone using forklifts or cranes while adhering strictly to safety standards in materials handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by following proper waste disposal procedures and ensuring all equipment is properly maintained.
- Follow safety regulations diligently by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection when necessary.
- Assist with warehouse operations such as loading, unloading, and storing materials securely for efficient workflow.
Experience
- Prior experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or construction environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as forklifts or cranes enhances safety and efficiency on the job site.
- Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, hand tools, machining processes, and millwork techniques is essential.
- Demonstrated understanding of safety standards in production environments, including PPE use and safety regulations.
- Experience with materials handling, assembly processes, welding, or working within a warehouse setting is advantageous.
- Ability to perform detailed dimensional measurements accurately to ensure quality craftsmanship.
- Strong work ethic with the flexibility to adapt quickly in a fast-paced production setting.
