- Familiarity with medical terminology (preferred but not required—training provided)

Technical skills training (preferred but not required)
- Perform vision and diagnostic tests, including OCT, Optos, Pupillary Assessment, Ocular Motility, Visual Acuity, and Confrontation Visual Field.
- Collect and document patient medical and ocular history in EMR.
- Assist with patient procedures, such as Retinal medication injections.
- Accurately document patient history, examination findings, procedures, and treatment plans as dictated by healthcare providers.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining patient charts, ensuring all information is up-to-date and readily accessible.
- Record patient data and prepare medical reports for review.
- Assist healthcare providers during patient visits to improve clinical workflow and documentation efficiency.
- Ensure that all patient records comply with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
Physical demands:
- Able to assist in transporting less mobile patients into exam chair
- Ability to move in and out of multiple exam rooms for up to 8 hours per day

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office setting, preferably in ophthalmology or related fields.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic retail math skills.
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing processes is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems; experience with ModMed is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- A commitment to providing excellent patient care while maintaining confidentiality standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
